Dr. Piotr Oko

is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow, Poland. Jagiellonian University is the second oldest medical school in Europe, in which was established in 1364. Dr. Piotr Oko immigrated to the United States to further his training and education. He is a board Certified Pediatrician in the US, with recent recertification in 2012, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Associate Professor of University and Dentistry of New Jersey and faculty member.

He completed his residency program at Seton Hall University, at Jersey City Medical Center after serving his last year as Chief Resident. As Chief Resident, he was appointed as clinical instructor in pediatrics, for the St. George Medical School students. After graduation in 1995, he opened his first pediatric practice in West New York, NJ, in Hudson County.

Simultaneously, Dr. Oko and his colleague Dr. Klos, pioneered the Pediatric Hospitalist Program for Hoboken and Christ Hospitals. The program delivered medical care for acute sick patients by fully trained pediatricians for many years. On December of 2000 Dr. Oko relocated his practice to the town of Hoboken. There he was co-founder, as well as co-owner of Hoboken Pediatrics, one of the leading private practice in Hudson County. While still caring for his patients, he also continued to educate young physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, as acting pediatric preceptor to the Family Medicine Residents of Hoboken Hospital – UNJMD.

Dedicated to his patients and their families, he developed many innovative pediatric management services at the Hoboken Pediatrics office that would best serve their families in the most efficient manner possible. His personality is described by the young Family Medicine Residents as: “very knowledgeable, quiet and calm, he engenders confidence in the patient and their family members”

Hoboken Pediatrics was recently acquired by Carepoint Health Medical Group in 2013, in which they became part of the biggest, and fastest growing private medical multispecialty group in Hudson County. Dr. Oko provides global pediatric care for patients that range from Newborns to 21 years of age. Dedicated to managing well child, nutrition, developmental, and vaccinations. Evaluations that range from all pediatric aspects such Asthma, Eczema, Eating problems, treatment of acute sick children, and coordination of medical care of Chronic sick patient, as well as transitional care.

Dr. Oko has been awarded by Castle Connolly for several consecutive years Top Doctors in the New York area. He currently holds NJ Top Doctors, Favorite Kid’s Doctors, and New York Magazine Top Doctors awards.
